Check up on Baby Aiden went well. I have been sick with a bad cold, but Aiden is doing good. He is head down and I am about a 1/2 Centimeter Dilated. Going back next Monday to be checked again and to schedule my Induction for next Thursday!! In 10 days our little man could be here!! 😳👶💙
Symptoms: I have a cold right now. 😟I have had a couple of Braxton Hicks Contractions very late at night before bed. They felt like period cramps or a very upset tummy kind of pain.
Cravings: Nothing out of the usual for me.
Aversions: Anything made with Vinegar
Wedding rings: Still off. I can’t wait to be able to put them back on!! 💍
Sleep: As much as possible but very hard to get comfortable.
Excited for: My Husband to get home next week and for Aiden to arrive!
Missing: My pre-pregnancy body and normal clothes.
Movement: He is a strong and active little man! He is head down and ready to come out!
Exercise: House work is the only exercise I get these days. All that is exhausting anyways lol
Sretch Marks: None so far! Yay! Moisturizing is definitely important.
Since I will have a newborn in the next couple of weeks or so I have been researching the best Diaper Bag and what to pack in it for the Hospital. I am a HUGE overpacker and I dread the idea of needing something that I left at home. I know the Hosptial will provide you with what ever you need but I also know that none of that is FREE. They charge/overcharge for everything they give you and even with my insurance I’m expecting a HUGE bill for the delivery of our Son. So why not use what I have already stocked up on. I plan on using as many organic products I can to protect my little man from the plethora of harmful products on the market.
So, after seeing rave reviews of the Ju-Ju-Be B.F.F Diaper bags I decided to take the plunge and buy one. I bought the Ju-Ju-Be Onyx B.F.F. Diaper Bag in Black Ops.
I needed a bag that offered a lot of space and organization without being too big and bulky. I really wanted to go the backpack route to have a hands free approach and to not have the back/shoulder pain and hassle of traditional Diaper Bags. This bag offers the ability to be worn as a backpack or messenger bag style.
The other GREAT feature that I was really looking for was a section just for my things. I really don’t want to lug around a purse along with a Diaper Bag and my Newborn in his carseat. This bag has the “Mommy Pocket” and a separate cloth lined pouch for my cell phone. SCORE!! These features were the major selling points for me. The other draw in for me was that they had it in a very dark subtle camo style that looks great. I didn’t want a girly bag since in having a boy and my Husband will use it as well. He should thank me lol
After looking at a million Pinterest lists and You Tube videos, I gathered a list of items to include in my Diaper Bag to take to the Hospital. There’s the musts; extra clothes for those countless poop explosions, lotions, and of course diapers and wipes.
Inside my Diaper Bag
6 Diapers- Babyganics
Wet Wipes Case- Seventh Generation Wipes
2 Bibs- I’m not sure if I’ll need them but I would rather have them just in case.
2 Burp Rags- They were handmade by my childhood friend’s Mother. They are the perfect size and so soft!
Lotion- Travel size Babyganics
Babyganics Lip & Face Balm
Qtips- Travel size container
Travel size container of Coconut Oil- I will be using Coconut Oil instead of Vaseline
1 Tommee Tippee Pacifier
1 Fingernail Clippers
2 Samples of Water Wipes
1 NeilMed NasaBulb Nose Aspirator
2 Pacifier Clips- I’m sure I won’t need them but they are small and don’t get in the way.
2 Sample Packages of Medela Breastpads
1 Honest Company Hand Sanitizer Spray
1 Receiving Blanket
Changing Pad- That came with the Bag
Small Clear Travel Case- I’m using it right now for storing 2 hats, 2 pairs of mittens and 2 pairs of socks
Large Clear Travel Case- That’s storing 4 Newborn zip up sleepers, 3 Newborn Onesies, 3 Newborn Pants and 1 0-3M Onesie.
1 Large Ziploc Bag- To store his dirty clothes and seal in the smell lol
Only 21 days or less to go until Aiden arrives!! We have the Carseat installed, the Diaper Bag is packed and I’m working on my bag for the Hospital. I guess you can say things are getting pretty serious lol ⏳👶🎒
Only 5 weeks or less to go!! Time has really flown by and I can’t believe that the next time Joe comes home our little man will be arriving!!! I’m so excited and very nervous. This issue with my heart makes me even more nervous. I just hope that Joe can be here for the delivery and spend as much time with us as possible before going back to work. 👶💙
My major projects lately have been organizing all my baby stuff, the nursery and house. Making room for all my new baby items is a little difficult. It has forced me to declutter and get rid of things that have not been used in a long time. Since my Husband is home we have put up our Christmas Tree. There was no way I could do it myself this year like I did last year. We actually went out and bought a smaller tree that is Prelit. That cut my work in half and was SO worth it!! It took me a couple of days to decorate it since I’m still having some heart and asthma issues. My tree and mantle are the only things in the house that I have decorated this year. I will have plenty going on and would rather not have to deal with taking any other decor down once January arrives. I just couldn’t be without my beautiful tree and garland on the fireplace.
My awesome Husband took me to get our picture taken with Santa at Bass Pro. The last time we had our picture taken with Santa was when we lived in South Carolina in 2011. This Santa was such a sweet guy and looked like the real deal. His suit was AMAZING and he was very easy to talk to. It made me feel pretty awesome to say my Due Date is Christmas Day when he asked. It’s not every day that you get to tell Santa your due on Christmas Day!! 👶🎅🎁🎄
My AMAZING Husband took me to the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets here in Auburn Hills for my belated Birthday treat. Since I have had so much trouble lately with my Heart and Asthma we decided to rent a motorized cart for me to get around the entire mall with. Thank GOD they offer rentals at that Mall. It’s so big that I would have never been able to walk around and enjoy myself.
One of our stops in the Mall was the Sea Life Aquarium. This aquarium is no competition for the Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach that we went to the weekend we got Married, but we really had a great time. We will definitely be bringing our little man back here that’s for sure.
I convinced Joe to take me to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. The first time I ate at one of their restaurants was in Chicago on a 5th Grade Field Trip. It was so awesome as a kid and I really wanted to go back as an Adult. This is another awesome place I want to take our little Aiden once he is a little older. I know he would love it as much as I did.
I’m feeling much better thanks to my new medication. Baby Aiden is doing great. He is a tough little guy. Just like his Daddy.
I went shopping for Baby Aiden with my Mother-in-Law and out to lunch for my 30th Birthday. Checking items off the list feels great! 😊👶
I can’t believe I’m 30! I’m going to miss my 20s. I have been through so much in the past 10 years. I have learned and changed so much. My 30s are going to be kicked off by some major events that I really look forward to. From buying the house we live in, that has been in my Family for decades, to welcoming our Baby Boy into this world. I can see so many adventures ahead of me and I can’t wait!
The end of Week 31 and beginning of Week 32 of my Pregnancy have been the most difficult so far. I haven’t even been able to take my Progression Photo. I just got home from spending 2 nights in the Hospital. I was having extreme symptoms of not being able to breathe, Heart Palpitations, not being able to walk from one side of a room to another without having to sit down and much more.
My first worry was for my Baby and how this was affecting him. Thankfully I have the proper devices at home and the know how to check my Blood Pressure, Oxygen Level and Heart Rate. My Blood Pressure was almost perfect and so were my Oxygen Levels. My Heart Rate was way too high. It was so high, like I was doing an intense Cardio Workout but I was only walking from one room of my house to another. This went on for 4 days without letting up before I decided I need to go to the Hospital.
I spent all of Halloween day in the ER before they admitted me and put me in a room. Upon entering the ER they immediately brought in an Ultrasound machine to check on Baby Aiden. His heart rate was at his normal level but he wasn’t moving like normal. They ran a Non-Stress Test on Aiden at the Labor & Delivery floor before taking me to my room. He finally began to move for the first time all day during that test and he passed it within 20 minutes. I was so relieved!
The next day they ran a Biophysical Profile. It combines an Ultrasound Evaluation with a Non-Stress Test. During the Ultrasound Evaluation I got to watch him practice his breathing. It was so amazing! My baby boy also has a good bit of hair! No wonder I have so much heartburn. 😂 I got to see his cute little ears and hands. He even gave us the “Thumbs up” too! Hahahaha 👍 They look for about 8 different things and they said he passed them all and did very well. He is such a good little boy already! Although he wouldn’t let us get a look at his face. 😞 He was being camera shy I guess.
After having a CT Scan done on my lungs to look for a blood clot, I had an Echocardiogram to check my heart. Both came back normal. My Troponin levels in my blood were slightly elevated because my Heart was working overtime and beating so fast. The Doctors finally diagnosed me with Sinus Tachycardia. I was given Cardizem, a medication to help slow my heart rate down which also made my Troponin levels drop from .08 to 0, which is where it should be. I ran the medication by my OB when he came to see me in the Hospital and he gave it the ok. Even though information about it warns against taking it during pregnancy, not having it would have a more harmful outcome at this point.
I have been so relieved to be back at home. Although, I do miss having my drinks and meals brought to me with a call. Lol Getting up and walking around to cook takes a lot out of me still. Hopefully we can get the dosage of this medication figured out to help me survive these next 7-8 weeks.
